When Rialto began their successful series of films based on the thrillers of Edgar Wallace, other film companies in West Germany took notice and developed their own "krimi" productions. Perhaps the most interesting were those films based on the novels or screenplays of Bryan Edgar Wallace, son of Edgar. A Bryan Edgar Wallace double-bill, THE PHANTOM OF SOHO and THE MONSTER OF LONDON CITY, had particular success outside of West Germany. Bryan, however, was not as productive as his father, and pretty soon his name was being used merely as a logo proclaiming a Wallace-inspired film. At times it was difficult to tell whether it was Edgar or Bryan who were the spiritual sources of the later krimis, and film producers and distributors undoubtedly welcomed this confusion.

The filmography below lists the films which were either based on or inspired by Bryan Edgar Wallace.
