JESS FRANCO TO RECEIVE GOYA AWARD

 I was alerted by Robert Monell's essential Franco blog, I'M IN A JESS FRANCO STATE OF MIND, that the legendary Spanish director will be receiving the prestigious Goya award from his country.

Here's the source article from EL MUNDO that explains the event. Franco is quoted as saying: "Estoy encantado y, como nunca me he creído merecedor de nada, me parece un regalo precioso." Roughly translated: "I am delighted and, as I have never felt worthy of anything, I find this a beautiful present."

The award will held on February 1st, 2009.
